Our Goliath was a sweet pea bottle lamb when he joined our flock years back. A tiny buggar that had no wool on his face or ears? Eventually that grew in but we kept sunscreen on his ears all his life. Otherwise they got sunburned. He put up with all my silliness and never fussed at all. I sure miss him!
The sheep have been putting their feet down on my shameful stash. Shameful? Hmmm. SO, when Goliath’s Lincoln/Cheviot x fleece popped up on the sorting table, the sheep sent it out to Shari for carding.
Pin drafted (coiled) roving is so easy to spin and soaks up dye like a sponge! It is soft, felts well and would be great in most any project. There is minor debris remaining that falls out easily as the roving is spun. His wool really reminds me of Romney in texture and feel.
Hugs from my ‘shameful’ stash!
