Aina is a sweet older gal (don't tell her I said that ok?) who lives in our retired sheep group. She has arthritis in her front legs. A smaller pasture and slower pace are good for her. Another benefit of retiring would be having some grain for supper each night! She also loves vanilla wafers. (And who wouldn't?) ...read more about Aina!
You can see by her baby picture she was a very dark mahogany brown with black face and legs when she started life. As she's aged, her fleece has silvered out. The unique part of her wool is the top inch or so of the locks. They are blond! Not the cinnamon tips I would expect from the sunshine.
Aina dyed part of her fleece a unique, dark green. It reminded her of a forest of evergreens she would like to stroll through. The wool is very soft and locks average 4 inches long. There is more debris in this wool than I would usually offer. It is just too pretty not to share! Definitely not throw away wool by a long shot, it will just need a little extra 'care' before it will be ready for your project!
