Collette is one of our wild girls! She is a Wensleydale sheep from the famous McNair flock- we always have trouble saying no when their sheep need a place to retire! ha! She is a gorgeous gorgeous girl. She is a bit on the wild side though. She's been here a couple years already and still turns her nose up at Fruit Loops AND Vanilla Wafers? Doh! She's happy though, just doesn't want to interact with us- unless she's a safe, out of reach distance. Silly right?
Her fleece is white and features long long locks (usually 10 to 12 inches long); spiral/corkscrew curls and it nice and soft. Perfect for tail spinning and core spinning. Any sort of yarn! It also felts easily, takes dye like a sponge and is beauteous doll hair or Santa beards.
You just can't go wrong with Collette- her best friends are also Wensleydales- Moon Pie and Sheldon. Be sure you have a read of their bios too ok?
2017 update: Ms. Collette is still very independent! She has her own idea about what is ok and not ok. However, as long as she is happy life is good. She's had a good year and is going to wear a jacket through winter to keep her curls all nice and clean. I'm not too sure she is happy about that but I told her I am pulling rank on this subject. Looking forward to a beauteous clean fleece for 2018!
2018: Collette is doing great- still wild- but beauteous and great! Her fleece weighed in at approximately 16 pounds again this year. (unsorted/unskirted) Ooh la la girl!! Here is a close up of her locks, all washed up and already spun! She has just a few locks striped with silver- love it!
